Google Drive is about to get a makeover as the search giant introduces a new home page for Google Drive simply called "Home." This is designed to speed up the discovery of files that are most important to users.
In a new blog update for Workspace, Google says Drive now makes personalized recommendations for files and folders based on Google's machine learning technology. "These suggestions use a variety of signals. "For example, which files and folders you recently opened, shared, or edited, or which documents are attached to upcoming calendar events." Google points out.
“The new Google Drive homepage makes it easier and faster to find the files you need and collaborate with others,” Google added. Additionally, you can now use filter tips to easily filter files by type, person, date modified, and even location.
This aesthetic is based on principles introduced by the Material Design 3 guidelines and promotes efficient navigation. Additionally, while these features are enabled by default, users can easily opt-out by going to My Drive and clicking the Move to My Drive option in the banner.
