The new Google Drive document scanner is rolling out to both Google Workspace customers and users with personal Google Accounts on iOS and iPad.
Google is rolling out a document scanner feature built into Google Drive for iPhone and iPad users.
The Google Drive app on iOS and iPadOS now displays a dedicated document scanner floating action button above the Add New button in workspaces, shared spaces, and file spaces. This action button launches a viewfinder that allows you to automatically scan documents while allowing manual capture.
The viewfinder also has grid lines to help users orient the document correctly. Preview options in the bottom left corner allow you to crop, rotate, and apply filters to your scanned document.

Google is also starting to roll out a new homepage layout for Google Drive on the web, which is currently being tested.
The Drive now has an optimized home page that uses machine learning algorithms to display personalized file and folder suggestions. A new filter tip allows users to narrow their search based on type, date modified, location, or shared to find related files on Drive.
The new layout design is rolling out to some Google account holders and will be available to all users by January next year.
The Google Drive home page layout was also recently redesigned on iOS and Android devices. The new design now allows users to see more recommended files at once, including recently opened, shared, and edited files.
The Drive notification log has been replaced with an ``Activity View'' section next to ``For You.'' This section displays items that require your attention, such as Examples: pending access requests, recent comments, and pending approvals.
